I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Kentucky. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, then obtained my Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville with a concentration and specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. I worked in community mental health organizations during my graduate studies and post-graduation employment. For over 5 years, I have worked with patients and families in Palliative and Hospice Care.
I am passionate about helping others from all walks of life and empowering change but also taking into account the sometimes complex systems in which each individual lives. My approach to working with others is genuine, collaborative, and strengths-based, valuing trust, confidentiality, and the therapeutic relationship to support coping, healing, and change together. I utilize evidence-based techniques and interventions (CBT, Solution-Focused, etc.) but will also select a combination of strategies to best meet the needs of each person.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families facing a wide spectrum of issues, including but not limited to:
- Chronic and/or Terminal Illnesses
- Grief and Loss
- Interpersonal Relationship Concerns
- Learning Disabilities
- Bipolar Disorder
- Child and Adolescent Emotional and Behavioral Challenges
- Academic Related Issues
