Amanda has been working with substance abuse and mental health populations since she started her undergraduate practicum in 2005. Originally from Michigan, she is an alumnus of Northern Michigan University, graduating with a degree in Psychology in 2006. Since becoming a Kentucky resident in 2013, she also became an alumnus of Campbellsville University, graduating in 2019 with a Master of Social Work.

At this time, she holds credentials as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and is a certified Substance Abuse Professional working with DOT Substance Abuse Programs.  She uses a client-centered approach of talk therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and trauma informed care. Currently her practice encompasses mental health, substance abuse, anger management programs, parenting/protective parenting, trauma/PTSD, domestic violence (victims counseling).

She enjoys working with a wide range of clients and describes herself as the “Hermione Granger of Counselors” due to her love of learning and bringing that education to meet her client’s needs.  She enjoys spending time with family, time in nature, travel and theme parks.
