“Perhaps I am stronger than I think.”
– Thomas Merton
Have you been feeling lost, overwhelmed, or out of control lately? Is there a voice in your head telling you you are not good enough and can’t handle what life has to bring? If so, you are not alone and I am here to help. I’ve been working in the mental health field since 2012 when I started my journey to become a therapist. I have worked primarily with adults coping with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, addiction, trauma, self esteem, communication challenges, and relationship concerns.
Throughout my career I have been described as down to earth and personable while still being able to gently challenge people to be true to themselves. The idea of therapy can be intimidating and it is always my first goal to make you feel comfortable and to get to know who you are as a person. We are so much more than our adversities, and that is one of my driving principles. I want to get to know the real you! I use a variety of therapeutic techniques such as interpersonal therapy, solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing to help you achieve your goals.
My biggest inspiration in life is the strength and resilience of the human spirit. I believe each and every one of us walks through the door with many of the skills needed to help us address our problems and to achieve our goals. Good therapy gives us a space where we can safely talk about our hopes and fears while we lay down a strong foundation from which we can build our dreams. I believe in everyone’s ability to heal themselves and would love to partner with you on your journey of self discovery.
