Family Counseling
The family is a system. A systems main focus is to find balance. Family dynamics can make finding balance challenging and interesting. Family dynamics can be influenced by many factors such as coping with a family member’s mental illness or substance use disorder, recent loss of a loved one can strain family support and/or living with someone in long-term care for medical reasons. We understand family dynamics and use interventions to help family members manage conflict, develop cohesion and to learn how to communicate effectively. Family counseling includes meeting each individual of the family and meeting with the family “as-a-whole”. This allows for accurate assessment of the complexities of the family system.
